Hello,

I have an acer aspire 5100 wich doesnt work. I'll try to explain the problem as much as i can. I bought the llaptop years ago. At the bigining as a new worked very fine unti ll i started to have problem with starting it. Sometimes when i tried to start it, i saw anly a flash fast light in the LCD and nothing, just black, the cooler i could hear working and the power button light was one. I hade to do a hard turn of and try agin to startit. But later this problem just whent to show aften and i had to do a hard turn of many times till it startef. I searched on the web to find something about it and the suggestion where that there is a hardware problem os i shopuld sent it to a service. I went to at least 20 computer services and no one could do anything. The mos answer i got from them is that there is a problem with crafic card wich is integrated to motherboard and i have to change the motherboard. I have changed the motherboard and it is exactly the same thing...

I would be very very greatfull if you might give me any idea what the problem might be...

So when the screen is showing up black have you tried hooking up an external monitor to your laptop to see if you get video ? You can connect using a VGA cable to a LCD or CRT monitor or even a newer TVs have that input (usually you press and hold the FN key by the left CTRL button and another key which is located on F keys on top of the numeral keys) that will switch the out put of video from your current monitor to external
Is the replaced board new or used?
If you get a video output on the external monitor most likely its your monitor that has went bad on laptop or there is a cable lose or disconnected
