Hi all!

I'm new here, and my english is not good, but hope You understand my words. And thanks for possible answers...

I have problem with my Acer aspire 7520 laptop. First it wont start Win vista at all, and it not show post messages and wont let me in to the bios.

Then, I try to reset bios. I detach backup batterys lead from mobo and it was detach over a night. Next morning I solder it back, but... Now laptop is totally dead! It wont start at all, and even battery charge led is not lit.

Something ideas to solve this problem?

Hello Destis

Try this first:

1. Remove the battery and AC cord.
2. Remove and reseat your RAM modules.
3. Replace your covers.
4. Hold down your power button for 1 minute (Battery and AC still disconnected).
5. Replace your AC power (without battery) and turn on.

This is called a hard reset. If it works COOL, then replace your battery. If not then we will try something else. Good luck.

Thanks for reply night_shift!

I try your trick, but its not work... What next?

I wonder, is this a hardware or possibly somekind of software (BIOS or other chip) issue? Or is motherboard broken?

Remove the HD and start your laptop, see what happens.
Thanks for hint, but earlier I tell that laptop is totally dead. No battery charge led, no action when I push power button... I try different memory gonfiguration, remove HD, even remove CPU and put it back.

I check voltages from power connector. Its ok.

How it can do such kind of thing if I only remove BIOS battery and put it back???

Did you reconnect the BIOS battery the correct way?

Since your power supply voltage ok, the fault maybe the power jack socket, sometimes the solder joints that hold it to the motherboard comes loose.

When you put your power connector in to the laptop and move the cord around, does the laptop power light come on?
