Access denied!!

hello, i have two workstations with xp, and a server with 2000 server, one of the workstations is a laptop and is wireless. my question is, i can connect to the laptop though computer management from my desktop and server but when i try to go into say device manager or services it tells me access denied, i am admin on all computers, it also does the same when i try to connect from the server to the laptop the same way. any help is appriciated. thank you
