I used the photo booth to take photo and record movies, after moved those photos and movies to trash and used the empty trash, are they still stay in the Macintosh HD? is there any ways that I can get them back? Thanks in advance!

Once you have moved to the trash, and emptied it, they are gone. If you have not opened, or moved, copied, or created any new files anywhere on the hard drive, they might still be there in a way that a data recovery program can get them, but the Mac OS uses the drive for cache files and swap files, so likely hood of any bits of the files still being there are next to none.

Thank you very much! I am sorry that I am just a new user with computer.. what do you mean by have not opened, moved, copied or created any new files any where in the hard drive? After deleted those files I had used the photo booth to take photos and record movies again for many times? will that overwritten those deleted files in the HD?
I checked with the seller, they told me that the chance of recovering those deleted files with recovery software is very low... say 60%.. is it true?
Thank you so much for your answer... they are very helpful for me and I appreciate that!

If you took more photos and movies, then you were creating files, so yes, that would write over the deleted files. And as for the seller's thought, he's being rather optimistic. Your chances are smaller then that. So a basic rule of thumb, never put anything into the trash unless you are 100% sure you don't want/need it anymore, otherwise burn it to CD/DVD if you are unsure, but don't want it on the hard drive taking up room anymore.
