Hi all, just upgraded to the following

AMD 4000 San Diego
A8N SLI Deluxe
1Gig Crucial Ballistix Tracers DDR500
ASUS X850XT PE
3*WD360 Raptor Hard Drives RAID0
Hiper Type R 580Watt PSU

Ok ive had numerous problems with this board as have a lot of others, i have sorted the majority of these problems i think. The slow boot times was rectified by changing the disk structure to Dynamic.

My current problem is the fact that i am unable to restart or shutdown my PC through windows, it hangs on windows is shutting down for ever. My old BIOS 1.011 had the same problem but was fixed by disabling the floppy drive in the BIOS, i then upgraded to the the latest BIOS 1.013 (as a first point of call to fix the slow boot - but didnt work) and the restart problem has returned but is not fixed by disabling the floppy

BTW i am on the nVidia Raid ports

Cheers for your time
:D

Every version of windows since win95 has had this issue. It can be caused by so many things like bad hardware, drivers, corrupt shutdown sound files, wake and APM settings in Bios, the list is long.

You may have already seen this but look here maybe something will apply, if not then post back and we can try to work through this.

One other thing I would suggest since you had issues with the floppy. Disconnect all removable drives and see if the issue is resolved. Then reconnect one at a time and see which one is troubled.

Also check the device manager for anything with a yellow ! mark.
