The best way to build a new system is to do a bare bones test before assembling the whole PC. This involves powering the Mobo with just the CPU/Heatsink/Fan, 1 stick of Ram, Video Card and the keyboard. I do not even put the mobo in the case until I have done this. I place it on a cardboard box
so that it does not get shorted out.

Try this and see if you get your video to come up.
Since you have it in the case already just unplug what you do not absolutely need. Sound, Drives, 1 stick of ram if you have 2 sticks, etc.

me too

hey Sharkforce
i have just bought the premium version of that MB, and i have the same problem. welll, it sounds like the exact same problem.

the green LED on the MoBo comes on, any fans i have connected come on, fan of my 6800GT come on, but absolutely nothing happens.
if i take out either the RAM of GFX card, all i get is beeping.
i am not sure what to do next.
i havent taken out the processor yet.

i took out the 6800GT and put in an old S3 pci gfx card, in case there was a problem with GFX, but still nothing on the monitor.

i have an Antec truepower 2.0 480W powersupply.
i would think that is enough power.

any help would be great?!?!?!
i hope we can both fix it quickly

cheers

more info

just a bit more info.

if i have the RAM, CPU and GFX card installed, i dont get any beeps.
but nothing on the monitor at all. as far as the monitor is concerned, it thinks nothing is there at all... just displays "no signal"
thats when i put in the old PCI GFX card. i even used a different monitor.

i connected the speaker only to hear what the vocal POST reporter had to tell me. it is supposed to tell you what the problem is, instead of beeping.
but i didn't get anything.
so i took out the RAM to see what happened, and there was just beeping.

i dont have anything plugged into the EZ-plug. but i didnt think i needed to do that until i had 2 GFX cards installed.

i was trying to see if there were and plugs i hadnt connected, but i dont think so. the only ones are the 24 pin main power plug and the 4 pin ATX plug.
and of course power switch and LEDs.

have i missed something?

cheers

Hi guys,

I have a similar problem only that my geforce 6800 fan wont start- the card seems to have no energy and I have no signal on the monitor too.

I have switched the card, ram , powersupply and mobo- still no change.

If you should find a solution please post it.
