Hey all,
recently I got a a cisco lynksys E1000
Linksys E1000 Wireless N Router - Cisco Home Products Store

and when I use it, the speed is about a little less as using the modem i had before. So im thinking about getting an E2000 but its way more expensive...
Cisco Linksys E2000 Advanced Wireless-N Router Review & Rating | PCMag.com

so im wondering if there are any good routers that can 1) offer really good speed 2) work at about a medium range well 3) support 2 computers that will be running mostly online multiplayer games and videos.
Those computers will be a windows 7 and a macbook pro from 2010.

With the E1000 i get about 7.0 mbps download speed. But when i went to school, their wifi gave me 20 mpbs download speed!!! all this is from speedtest.

i also have comcast as my provider.

Hello,

If you are a heavy gamer what you need upgraded is the bandwidth. We have an old Linksys router and 2 heavy gamers, and my Speedtest results is close to 20mbits. No issues whatsoever.

You don't need an expensive router. A dual band would work, make sure to get something with detachable antenna in case you need them upgraded to High gain antenna.

Pls check this out: Buy.com

I MIGHT get those .... im not really a heavy gamer but i still like to play multiplayer guys that needs good ping.(like gun game and stuff)
are those 130$ routers really that much better than the E1000/2000?

If you're not having any disconnection issue with your current router, why will you replace it?

What you need to do regarding the slowness issue is upgrade your Bandwidth.

the reason i want to replace my current router is the distance. right now i get about 2 rooms of wifi. i need it to go across my whole house. which is about 3 more rooms. (roughly 80ft total)

Let's find out the Signal:

From your wireless computer pls. install and run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector.
Click on the 'Show Networks' to display all wireless networks on the xirrus icon on your desktop of if you have one running in a corner. Tap the Printscreen key on your keyboard, open up Paint then choose Edit from the Menu and select Paste, then SAVE it. Upload and attached it here, click on Go Advanced and locate Manage Attachments Tab and attached the file.

Nope it's funnier that that.
and lol is it wonka factory
With the bandwidth that you have, as long as there's no other person in your home that's doing Video Streaming, heavy downloading, and stay away from any P2P Programs (Kazaa, utorrent or similar), you shd be fine. Otherwise, ask/beg your Parent to increase the Bandwidth.

but thanks ALOT for ur help :heartlove

edit: oh i still think i will buy a new router because i still need the wifi to extend longer.
so i just have one last question:
Amazon.com: Cisco-Linksys E2000 Advanced Wireless-N Router: Electronics

vs

Amazon.com: D-Link DIR-655 Extreme N Gigabit Wireless Router: Electronics

it seems like the Dlink is better, but thats what the review says.
what do you think is just generally better? (speed and range)
