what would make a 98 dodge dakota just die...changed spark plugs, wires, rotar, Crankshaft position sensor, but still can't figure out problem...is it possible that it's the coil? or the "brain" (otherwise known as computer)??? any ideas gratefully accepted!

There is a wide range of possibilities that would cause an engine to die, the key is not to get to absorbed in the 'what if's" but instead be focused on the first step to determine the cause.

Start by looking if its an electrical or fuel problem. Are you getting spark from the coil to the plugs ? Are you getting enough fuel pressure ? Is the battery being charged ? Did the check engine light come on before it died ?

These questions have to be answered first then you can move on to component testing.

thanks, i can use a screwdriver to see if there's a spark at the plug...i suspect the coil, but it could be darn near anything...
