i've bought a new video card " Radeon HD 6870" and installed it to the motherboard, but whenever i turned on the pc i would get no display from the dvi port and the hdmi port. So i decided to remove the video card and use the integrated graphics chip to go to windows and install the drivers that came with the CD. Afterwards i turned of the pc , pluged in the card " connecting the 6pin connecters" and turned on the pc. I still got the annoying black screen from the hdmi port ( I was using hdmi to dvi cable) , but when i tried the dvi port (dvi to dvi cable) it booted up this time, but the screen appeared to have some horizontal lines all over it, in the bios, boot up menu and the whole desktop. Whenever i went to the resolution options, it said i had that the Screen was pluged in to nothing, and in the device manager it said the display was a Radeon HD 6800 Series. I updated the drivers but after i restart the pc, when windows was loading i got an annoying blue screen, and it would not boot. It would only boot to safe mode, but i was still getting the same annoying vertical lines. Im not sure if its the video card or the pcie express slot. I have a HD 2600 and when i plug to the motherboard i always get a blank screen as well. I've updated bios, i've tried reseting bios, blabla ...

I've uploaded some images , so if you people dont mind , please check it out.

My System Specs are:

M2N68-AM Plus Motherboard
Athlon II X2 240
3GB DDR2 Ram
OCZ ZS 750W
Radeon HD 6870 1GB

if your running the latest drivers (from ATi not the manufacturer or disc) then you may have a damaged card and need to rma it.

can you please post your voltages from the BIOS?

your voltages look ok.

however the BSOD you posted above relates to either bad vide drivers a bad video card or bad ram.

does the problem occur with both cards and the latest drivers? if so then I would say the drivers are corrupt try the previous drivers and see if that helps.

The HD2600 does not show display. Whenever i connect that video card i get no display at all. Anyways, moving to the HD6870, when i used the drivers that came with the cd, it booted to windows but it still had all these horizontal annoying lines, but when i installed the lastest ones, i still got the vertical lines in the bios, but when windows was loading i got BSOD. Im going to try the previous drivers to see if that changes.

I've tried two previous drivers the 11.10 and 11.11, but still i got the BSOD with both of them. The funny thing is that my video card has two dvi ports, one hdmi and one DisplayPort. Well, i've tried the hdmi and i get blank screen, im not sure about the DisplayPort because i dont have the appropriate cables, however the two dvi ports there only seems to be one that works with me, the other acts like the hdmi port, the screen appears black. I use to have nvidia before, but i have unninstalled the drivers, so i dont think that will interfere. Maybe if i reinstall windows?, but i dont think that will help. Do you have any other solution though ?
