Me and my friend both just built our new systems and well he is having a problem or two while mine runs fine except the fact that my 6800LE scores very low in 3dmark 2005. I have been told i should be hitting at least 4K because i have it unlocked to 12x1,6vp but im only running at stock now but i can get it to 345/825 and get 3518 3dmarks. Is my power supply holding me back? its a CG 400Watt psu, only 14A on the 12v rail and thats very low is it not? Im looking at getting a new Ultra X-Connect 500Watt and it has 33A on the 12v rail.. my system specs are:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (newcastle) @ 2.2ghz
Asus A8V S939 AGP Mobo
1gb OCZ PC3200 Dual Channel DDR 2.5-3-3-7
Seagate 160GB SATA HDD
Leadtek 6800LE 128MB AGP
Nec 16x DVD+/-RW Burner
1x80mm system Fan
Now for my friends system/problem, he has everything setup with all the newest drivers and he is able to run diablo 2 and half-life 2/cs:source but when he tried to use 3dmark 2005 his system will crash and it has has 3 unique crashes after trying 3dmark 05 a few times:
Crash #1: Blue screen kernel_input_paging_error 0x0000007A or 0x00000077
Crash #2: System Powered Itself Down (or just lost all power?)
Crash #3: No blue screen and no power down, just grey fuzzy screen (locked up)
Now my question here is, is this also a power supply issue because i dont really know but it seems to be, as for the paging error tho.. wouldnt that have to do with the hard drive? or maybe it not gettin enough juice from his generic 450watt psu.. His specs are:
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (Venice) @ 1.8ghz
DFI LP Ultra-D SLI Mobo
1gb OCZ Dual Channel PC3200 DDR 2.5-3-3-7
eVga 6600GT 128MB PCI-E
BenQ 16x DVD-/+RW
2x80mm System Fans (1 with LED and psu also has LED)
Zalman 7000B HSF w/LED
2 Led's in front
Seagate 160GB SATA HDD
3.5" Floppy
Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!!
