Im looking to throw together a nice gaming PC, I need to start with the processer because thats where im stuck at atm. Ive read around the internet and seen plenty of people say the "Core 2 Duo E8400/E8500" and im not doubting it, im just asking if even after 5 months its still #1? and why is it better then the "Core 2 Quad Q9300" for gaming?


Also can I get a few motherboard ideas to go with the processer of choice?

I always suggest Gigabyte boards. Though I have not had the chance to see what kind of boards they have out for a cpu of that kinda power. If you do a search for top 10 motherboards you might get lucky and find a credited review of mobos.
