598lmr Motherboard Problems

I JUST PICKED UP A REPLACEMENT MOTHERBOARD FOR A FRIEND
WHEN TRYING TO BOOT UP IT HANGS WITH A KEYBOARD ERROR, AND CMOS CHECKSUM BAD ERROR 2 SHORT BEEPS AND THEN 1 SHORT BEEP AGAIN. I TRIED USING A GOOD MEMORY STICK
I USED CLEAR CMOS JUMPER, NOTHING. I HAVE MANUAL AND TRIPLE CHECKED ALL JUMPERS. AT START UP IT SAYS I HAVE K2-150 PROCESSOR BUT I HAVE K2-500? ANY IDEAS. JOE

Look here is this your motherboard?
Does your BIOS allow you to set the CPU speed. If so, change it to reflect the 500MHz. If not, your MoBo would definitly have jumpers or possibly a toggle switch to change the CPU parameters.
