Hi.

I recently bought a 512MB DDR1 400Mhz stick of RAM.
Previously I had 512MB of RAM already installed on the my PC,
but when put the new RAM in, my computer on shows 120 MB
instead of 1024 like it should have been. Then I took the new RAM
out, but it still shows 120MB. Pls help.

As Spunk mentioned. If you get the wrong kind of RAM that your motherboard will not allow then it will only show so many MB. ECC, registered RAM and buffered RAM or non buffered RAM ECC and registered. If any of those things are not accepted from your motherboard than things will not match up.

As Spunk as mentioned before use Cruical System scanner this will tell you the exact type of RAM you will need to match with your other RAM modules.
