HI
Basically 64-bit (8 bytes) is mentioned many times in linkage to a computer but in this sense it means the underlying architecture of storing and reading data.
Its better and fully explained here: Difference between 32-bit and 64-bit
Also check this for a summary table: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294418
Here's a test comparison between the two: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1665
Hope it helps after a nice little read
