Hi,
I have 3 copies of alg.exe on my C: drive and I'm trying to work out whether they are all legitimate. I've looked at a lot of different websites and I'm getting conflicting information. Some of them say if it's anywhere but C:\WINDOWS\system32 then it's not legitimate, but others say it's ok as long as it's in a system folder.
There is only one alg.exe process running when I look at Windows Task Manager.
The three copies are in
C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$
C:\WINDOWS\system32
C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
Both of the last two entries are 44KB and were created at exactly the same time. The first one is 40KB and was created in 2001 (long before I had this computer).
I'm running Windows XP with SP2.
Any advice gratefully appreciated - thanks.
Jess
