Hello
Is it possible to use a dual PCI-e Motherboard and 2 PowerColor 6870 Eyefinity 6 Graphic Cards (without Crossfire) to display different or seamless content to 12 different displays?
Will my Windows 7 64Bit and ATI Drivers see and extend on all 12 displays ?
And what MB can handle this ?
Thank you.

Pretty much any motherboard with two pcie slots would work.

And provided both cards support 6 displays by themselves and are not in crossfire , then yes 12 displays are possible.

I'm sure you can run then in extended mode but as for actually stretching the desktop across 12 displays I'm not sure , seeing as there are two cards not one.

hi emosun
i don't want to use it for gaming but for video playback.
I have 5 videoprojectors side by side and 4 lcd side by side, mounted in different corners of a showroom.
I want to display video content on these compositions.
One option is to use windows 7's extended displays and play clips using VLC or use a VJ Software called Resolume which can select the desired display to play on.

But before I buy such a configuration I wanted to ask you guys if it will work.
It's definitely cheaper than a digital signage splitter.
Do you have any other opinion ?
I heard that such a configuration required PSU, but I didn't find any specification regarding how many watts an Eyefinity 6 card in full load can use.

With 2 6870s you will want at least a 850W PSU.

I have a 950W powering my two 5870s... (they tend to be a slightly more power demanding)

If it was me I would be looking for a 950+W PSU.

This would be a good choice IMO: Newegg.com - CORSAIR Professional Series HX1050 1050W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Modular Power Supply

Also, you can do 12 monitors(I think, might be limited to 9 with hydra vision) just not in the same display group...

Meaning... some videos will stretch across all 12 but it will not be as efficient as having 2 videos(6 each)
