2003 Server resizing partitions

673 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Shermanator
I need to increase the size of my C: drive (partion). How do I do this without losing data?

I purchased easus partition master, honestly I'm just afraid of data loss.

I was thinking of buying GHOST to copy the whole drive and then doing the partition resize.

Any thoughts out there?

Welcome to TSF!

Always a good idea to have a backup when changing partitions, though it's usually pretty safe.

I'd use Easesus Todo Backup, it's compatible with Server 2K, 2K3, and 2K8, and it's free.
If you go to Disk Management, does it show free space in the partition? If so, use diskpart

This article describes the procedure, although it says for XenServer, the booting from Windows media is accurate
