Hi,

The two speakers from my original 5.1 set has finally died, and I replaced them with a new 2.1 set. My on-board sound card has 5 ports but my new 2.1 speakers only have one plug. I don't know which port to use - front, rear, center, etc.? The only plug that produces sound is the one for the rear speaker, but there is no sound when I'm trying to view online media. Everything worked fine with my old speakers. Anyone?

Thank you.

Paul,

Thanks for the help. I got the speakers to work, but I bought a new sound card. Now I can't get any sound when I'm using my TV tuner card. I made sure to connect the audio cable from the TV tuner card to the audio card and reinstalled both drivers. Did I miss anything?

Thank you.

Great that you got the speakers working! It is unfortunate that onboard audio can be a pain sometimes.

In what order did you re-install the drivers and did you remove them first? Try installing Tuner Card first, then the audio card if you haven't already. Also, it might be important to uninstall via the Device Manager (particularly with the audio card) than remove the software via Add/Remove Software (again, if you haven't done this already).

If that doesn't work, it might help to know what tuner card and what audio card you have.
