hello all. I have files on an external HD which equate to 160gb. I want to copy these files onto another external HD but i get errors which cancel the process every time. they say "file path name too long" "system did not have enough resources" I am currently archiving all of this data with 7z in the hope it will copy over but its gunna take 36 hours. If any1 has any tips on how i could do this easier i'd appreciate it a great deal. Thanks.

The operating system does not work well with extremely long file names. I have had this problem a few times in the past....probably something that you downloaded has a very long name to it. Just rename that file to something shorter.

It's not just the name, it is the full path of the file. I.E. F:\external_drive\root_file\sub_folder\another_folder\really_Long_name\etc. transfer the file to the root of the drive or change the name.
