I was using a Samsung SP1604N as my slave drive, and was trying to set it as the new master for a new 300gb seagate, I had to rebuild the partition because it had been turned into a dynamic by Windows and made a mess when I reinstalled windows with Diskpatch I was able to recover my information and sent it to the 300gb and the drive was working fine.
So I format the disk with win Xp sp 2 pro and to my surprise the 160gb turned 31 gb, I tried the specific DOS diskmanager by Samsung wich uses the infamous dynamic ontrack and it says my disk is 160 gb and lets me partition it, I followed the instructions made the DOS boot disk wrote the DOD parts and it will display disk error or gets stuck in A: no more instructions, I can install windows to it but it recognises only 31GB . I have tried some diagnostic software and does not appear to be damaged.
I flashed the BIOS (Right now it is supporting the 300gb seagate drive so is not that), mount it on an external USB drive and it seems fine except for the size, I have tried all the jumper settings and still is 31gb.
Is there a way to get it back to normal?
