10-yard cat-5e = slow connection, HELP!!

1985 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  johnwill
I moved to my new room because my old room is just way too small to fit all my stuffs on it so I got everything moved, placed, and wired upped. Then once I booted up my computer, my internet connection speed decreased from 100kb/s to 30kb/s, WOW!***LOLLMFAOROFLOIDS O_O; /end. -- I can surf the web normally but when it comes to streaming/downloading videos, which I do a lot, is just simply impossible to do. I thought cat 5e are suppose to be compatible up to 100 meters?! Is it probably my Ethernet cable fried up or at least damaged? I'll try to replace it as soon as I can get to ACE hardware store. Or is it the problem is not coming from my Ethernet cable but through something else? Please help, Internet LOL!

And if i got lucky enough to get to 50kb/s its really becoming unstable like a second later it will go up to 100kb/s then 2 seconds later its will go down to 20kb/s, back and forth. I'm scanning right now for viruses, I'll update later. Thank you!
