Hello, I have no internet on my computer and it has always worked fine - I use it for photos, printing and things that has no need for the internet. Since the start of this year, 2011, it has been getting the legendary 'BSOD' randomly and it won't go away until I manually restart it myself. I have looked up the solution for this error - 0x0000008E from You receive a random "0x0000008E" error message on a blue screen in Windows XP but it requires the internet to get a windows update. Please can anybody help?

Connect the system to the Internet, install Windows Updates - including XP SP3; install driver updates.

try reinstalling the video driver
in the device manager uninstall the video card
reboot tapping f8 and choose vga mode
when windows finishes rebooting
disable a/virus
install your drivers
reboot the computer
