The day is here......Happy Thanksgiving!!

We're well underway in my house. Might be an early dinner after miscalculating the time on the smoker......didn't take as long as the timetable shows. Bird is already 180° and will get an extended 'resting time' as the rest of the feast is prepared. Hope we don't end up with turkey jerky......

Take it out of the smoker, and wrap foil over it.

Didn't turn out too bad...... Not sure about doing it again.....smoking is for pork and beef brisket. Time to put everything away.......but I'm ready for a nap.... Not enough room for desert......

Although most roast and a few smoke, here in Dixie, a turkey fryer is the big thing.

That's a lot of peanut oil to use once or twice.

I think my oldest son was going to smoke a turkey today......wonder how it turned out?? I'll ask Saturday when we all go to another son's house for 'Thanksgiving'.

Certainly would NOT be any peanut oil within 75 yards of my place, as I'm deathly allergic!

Just the fumes from the oil used next door landed me in the ER last year!!

Any type of nut products can be deadly for some people......gotta be a very careful shopper. I'm having two pecan rolls right now with my coffee......typical morning routine.

Had another round of turkey yesterday.......and bunches of other tasty treats. We've got a 4 week break in the action before Christmas then we start all over again.
