Yes they do, and it will most likely be by subscription only.

There are plenty of open source alternatives available for nearly everything MS, I really don't see them making money from any but the inexperienced users.

I'm sadden by this news and believe Microsoft should continue to support it or provide users with another basic photo editor. I use Paint a lot for tutorials or quick screen grabs/cropping.

Paint was replaced by 3D Paint in the Windows 10 Creators Update last year it will get the new features and updates.

Played around with 3D Paint for a bit earlier today. It's alright. Still stick to Photoshop when it comes to photo editing.

Ditto that. I like to use bold, red arrow pointers in screenshots. never could figure out how to do it in Gimp and I don't think you can in MS Paint.

I do agree Paint is handy if you're in a hurry.

I run Windows 7 anyway and don't see that changing in the near future so I've nothing to worry about, I don't think.

Hey Deejay100six,

Photoshop to this day is KING when it comes to photo editing. I've played around with multiple programs such as Google Picasa, Irfanview, and more but nothing beats Photoshop.
