Problem
For the last 2-3 weeks i have been getting sketchy streaming (buffering / micro buffering) via WiFi on my Mac Air. (connection was fine before this).
There are 3 other devices/laptops connected to the WiFi and they dont have problems.

I have closed down every program except chrome / 1 tab (youtube) and the streaming is very spotty, BUT i have full internet connection. I have tried the same with Spotify with the same results. Safari - same results.

Running "speed test" has my connection is downloading consistently around 18-20 mbs / upload around 10 mbs
Nothing crazy is showing up in the Activity Monitor

i am desperate to get to the bottom of this. Software ? Hardware ?

any suggestions?

What i have tried already:
reboot the modem and the WiFi router several times
reboot laptop several times
turning wifi on and off / connecting and disconneting as well.
I have tried sitting right next to the wifi router, as well as moving around it

First run Speedtest of your internet. If it is slower then the advertised speed, then, unplug the Router, wait 15 seconds and plug it back in. Give it 5 minutes or so to have all the lights come back on and test again.
If all you devices test with fast internet except your Mac, then download DetectX and scan and remove any malware it finds. Then test again
