Hello,

I'm considering formatting my computer because it seems to have become slow over time and I want a fresh start. Another reason is the windows 7 I was provided with from my school is only 32 bit, it only utilizes 2.1/4GB of my RAM and it irritates me. I'm familiar with formatting and people have even paid me to format their PC's numerous times, but I have never dealt with formatting a bootcamped HDD before.

I don't really use my mac side of my computer though it is a Macbook Pro (Got it from school.) Is it possible to only format and install Windows 7 Without the mac side? Is this recommended? Will I be able to reinstall the software that the school provided me (Word, excel, all that jazz)?

Some help would be highly appreciated! Thanks!

As long as you have the bootable install DVD of Windows you can. But for the apps, they can't be installed without their disks as well. Being it's not yours, the best thing is to take it back to the school for their IT to do it as they have the licences for it.

You should have OS X installed. Some will run Windows without OS X, but it is not recommended.
