since Apr. 8, 2014 is the last day of support for Windows XP, and IE-8 is generally considered the most advanced Microsoft browser that will operate with XP, so can I conclude IE8 will not be supported either since it's generally assigned to XP.. ?? I know some sites especially when it comes to generating shipping labels that IE8 was the only browser that worked, while other browsers gave black (ink-soaked) shipping labels, or a blank page where a label should have been .. I just downloaded Chrome today, in case IE8 is recommended for deletion from my Windows XP rig.. will the MS IE* updates stored on my puter be a case for attackers? if they can get through my defenses? I use a top tier Internet Security suite

IE 8 is already out of date since IE 11 is the newest version.

I have never had an issue printing shipping labels from any version of IE.

Since you are still running on XP and wish to take the security risk, I would recommend you use a browser that will get security updates like Chrome or Firefox.

Hello pie4himm

XP along with IE8 can be used. But cannot be called secure. Even though it is not guaranteed that you will run into trouble, it is quite likely you will.

Have you considered the big switch to Linux? What do you use your computer for?
