Hi,
I am running Windows XP SP3 on a dial-up internet connection.
A couple of months ago IE7 worked fine. I then moved house temporarily, and had access to a broadband connection. I could access the internet via this new connection, and could receive my emails fine (although could not sent via Outlook). Firefox 2.0.0.16 worked fine, but IE7 would not connect "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error message. I thought it may have something to do with my new internet connection so didn't worry too much about it, and just used Firefox. However now that I am back home, using my original internet connection IE7 still won't work. Also if I update Firefox to a new version that won't work either. I have removed IE7 tried IE6, but still no luck. I have tried the "Diagnose Connection Problem", and and have also reset the default settings on IE7, but doesn't fix the problem. Any ideas about what else could I could try?

when the window with "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error message opens, check tools on the top right of the screen, then see if work offline is checked. If it is uncheck it, i had a similar problem a while back and this worked.

Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.

Thanks for the suggestion, but offline wasn't checked.
