I have an older MacBook Pro that crawls along. I suspect malware and other wares as well. Is this a topic for the Alternate Computing Forum?

I'm sorry but we only deal with Windows based Malware. The tools we use to analyse and remove infection are not compatible with Macs, and the helpers in this forum are generally trained on Windows only.

Malwarebytes make an anti-malware program for Macs ... https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/ ... it's a free download, and I recommend that you give it a try, and see whether it helps you with your problem.

If that does not help, then post in the Mac forum ... https://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f65/ ... and see if any of the guys over there can help you further.

You're welcome.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but sadly my expertise is with Windows based infections only.

If what I've suggested does not help, and the guys over in the Mac forum can't help either, please let me know, and I will try and find some other external sources of help for you.
