I have had this email for almost the whole time since my first pc and it is now getting so much junk mail including porn **** that I just want to delete it. can someone walk me through the procedure. I went through Microsoft to do this but it sounded like it was going to delete my Microsoft account not just the email address.

If you update your msn account to an outlook.com one, you can still keep the old one as an alias. Don't have mail forwarded to the new account or you'll only continue to get the same spam as before.
