Was looking at a few people's avatar here at TSF and noticed some very interesting ones. I've been wanting to ask this for a while, so I thought this a good time to do it.

I guess the question is; Why do you have that avatar? Is there history behind it? Does it describe you well? Do you just love the look itself?

I can do mine as an example. My user name is Ninjaboi, so I figured an avatar of a ninja fit well. Why do I have both my user name and avatar like a ninja? First, they appeal to me. Second, I played a few games where the term 'ninja' was passed around to me for doing some insane stunts that knocked others out of the league we call 'Uber Pro'.

Anyways, enough about me. What's up with *your* avatar?

My "Man with a spinning head" shows much confusion at times.

Mine took a little research to find......can't really remember what I was looking for when I found it. I decided to go with "Crazy Stephen" from the movie "Braveheart" ......I'm not allowed in public very often because I am crazy but dead serious. On more than one occasion I, and my coworkers, have been presented with a serious/complicated project....when things stall or seem to come to an impasse I make some crazy off-the-wall remark to break the tension. A "stupid" remark can often break what seems to be an insurmountable barrier and focus can be redirected to the task at hand from another angle.

OK, long story....but I'm staying with "Crazy Stephen"......

EDIT: I have had a beard since the day I could grow one.....

I also change mine often.

But this one and the last one have been Mass Effect themed (Mass Effect is a popular RPG made by Bioware).

The character on it now is Garrus (was in ME1 and was "Archangel" for a bit of ME2 until you find out who he is). He is a vigilante companion of the main character and has a great sniping skill in the second one :P

My past one was something I made in Photoshop (the Redeye3323 avatar I mean).

After I got 'christened' WereBo by a chum, when CB-Radios 1st became legal in the UK, during the 80's, I kept the name as an 'Alter-Ego'.

When I first went online in '97, WereBo eventually found himself as an Admin/Mod in several chat-rooms, a member of a certain room was so inspired by the name, she drew my portrait and posted it on 'DeviantArt'. She let me use the pic as an Avatar, so with a bit of work, this.....

became this....

Though only staff here can have animated avatars

It's quite simple, actually - when I jumped ship and came over here with Jason I'd stay up until 2-3AM working on computers and chatting so I became Midnight Tech, then a friend from a long-gone forum designed the original avatar. Later I started playing Star Trek: Orion Pirates as a Klingon and had someone add the trefoil and bat'leh to it.

A long time ago when I played Counter Strike too much, I was always the old man in the group. I was also usually the first to die 'cause I was so slow and sucked at aiming. So my handle evolved into Đrägœn Maibölls, which pretty much described how I played. Over the years I've shortened it to Dragoen for all my login's and such. Hence the dragon avatar. It's tough to get a good looking dragon in such a small picture so I settled on this neat <BOOM> head shot.
