I built a long (130ft) ext cord out of 220 vac cables I found here when I bought the house and the pone I had in Va Beach and now all I have to do is plug it in where the dryer plugs in at and i can weld in my garage:)
OS: WinXP Pro SP3, Vista Home Premium SP2, Windows 10 Home x64
What gauge are the cables?? You may be able to weld, but for how long before you burn the garage down?? I have a good supply of 220VAC in my garage and I can weld.....but I can't weld. I'd have to learn first.....
It's a good thing I never had any sanity......I would have lost it by now.
6 gauge the welder is an old Lincoln tombstone 225 AC only, works on 3/332 rods, my garage is steel and is about 120 feet from the house with a dirt floor so I'm more worried about burning up a rag than the building, last night just as a test I took a link from a recalled ford with rubber bushings and a old used worn out brake rotor and used a 6011 rod to go through the paint and rust and found out the red wasps that are trying to take up residence in the top of the garage don t like the smell of burning rubber and more than I do , I'll post a pic of the stand I built before I set the trailer tung on it if I remember
