The 4th of July, when Americans celebrate their country by brazenly showing their contempt for anti-fireworks ordinances!

Except its sad how every since firework in the store today was made in China.

Low quality and the risk of bad China manufacturing.

I did buy some though to setoff.

It was a pretty good holiday. watch my neighbors shooting off illegal fireworks (not allowed in the town I live in), grilled a few pork steaks, sit back and really enjoyed my day off. I like it when the fourth falls on Thursdays. That means the place i work will be shut down on friday too so I am also enjoying a nice four day weekend.

Hope eveyone who celebrates had a good one too.

Should have been on my street, there are two houses that always try to out do each other, one guy started with bottle rockets and fire crackers, then the other started with fountains, and by the end of the night I was about to crawl under the house for safety cause the were launching 6"diameter rockets and bombs from the street that went high enough they could have brought Mir down.

Just found out on the morning news that the Va State police decided to close the exits around Mt Trashmore so people couldn't pull of the road and watch fireworks, so instead every body up n 264 just watched from the interstate in the 20 mile backup :)

me thinks somebody at state Police headquarters isn't the brightest light bulb in the lamp

Celebrated by cutting the lawn while I had the chance.....started out by doing the back yard for flea control but I kept going and did the whole 3 acres. There was a little mist of rain but I never really got wet.

Finished the day with grilled steaks, brats, home made french fries, and corn on the cob........and a few beers.

What?? Closed the exit ramps?? Columbus police were making $$ for the city by issuing tickets to those that were parked on the berm of I-670 to watch the fireworks.
