I have a Dell laptop that runs Windows 10. My husband has a Acer laptop, also runs windows 10. About 2 months ago his started turning off by itself and he has to sign on when he turns it back on. Now my dell is doing the same thing. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

In Personalization Settings. Change Screen timeout settings to Never. If you also want to forget about logging in with a PW, go to the additional power settings and choose donít require a password option under PW protection on wake-up.

Your laptops are automatically turning off their displays after a period of inactivity, and then they "go to sleep" shortly after. This is the default and normal behaviour in Windows. All you have to do is change the settings accordingly, and set it to never go to sleep and/or to never turn off the screen. Go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...sleep-settings for steps on how to change this behaviour. Another tutorial with illustrations is available here https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/...dows-10-a.html

Turning off the screen and going to sleep are features intended to save power while you're not using the laptops. If this is not desired, then just set them to "never".
