Hello again,

An unknown share calling itself Ww_0027 suddenly appeared in the the network shares of both my Windows 10 computers. (They're both networked so it's probably the same share seen in both).

They cannot be deleted or removed and have little in the way of Properties.

How do I get rid of them and prevent them from installing again ?

I suspect this is the work of arrogant Microsoft.

Regards

You didn't say which folder(s) were affected. Anyway, the command net share is the deletion method for each folder i.e. net share Pictures /delete

These appear as another entity (machine) on the local network, like:

Network (WORKGROUP)
40EX600_Series <DIR> [Smart TV]
BBB <DIR> [This machine]
Express <DIR> [part of Roku]
Ww_0027 <DIR> [Unknown/unwanted]

<refresh> <lnk>

Where do I enter 'net share Pictures /delete' Command prompt ?

This looks like it is your Roku device connected to your TV and the shared library it has.

No, no ... I eventually fixed the problem: it's some sort of Microsoft advertising stunt which puts unwanted devices on your net linked to corporations (I've seen Asus and Amazon among others).

Fixed by disabling the Windows Connect Now Service.
