Hi , I have posted this before I suggest all of you make a copy and use this, it is the only proper way to delete the Icon cache allowing windows to rebuild after a compete shutdown.
Go to search and type:- cmd
Next press the ctrl +shift+enter keys on your keyboard an elevated cmd prompt will open.
Copy and paste all the below cmds into the command prompt window, press enter.
taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F (your desktop will go blank)
DEL /A /Q "%localappdata%\IconCache.db"
DEL /A /F /Q "%localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\iconcache*"
shutdown /p (your computer will shutdown completely, after this Restart your computer.
