Hi,

I've been set a task to try and work out how to migrate a user account from a PC using Windows 7 to a new PC using Windows 10. I will be doing this for a large company. The company doesn't use the cloud for user accounts, so all the data for that user is stored locally (on the PC). Al the data has to be moved manually. Not using the cloud.

I was thinking about using an external hard drive, but as Microsoft has stopped Windows Easy Transfer in Win 10, I'm not sure how to go about it?

Could I use the PCMover tool or even a data transfer cable for the task? I'm thinking that might be very time consuming.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jamie

Use an external USB HDD or large Flash Drive, or Save them to a Network Share. Just Drag and Drop or Copy and Paste. Follow the instructions in this link Fix a corrupted user profile - Windows Help scroll to Copy files to a new User Profile for instructions how.
