Not sure where to post this hope this is the one.
I have to set up a new computer for my wife, it is loaded with windows 10 with Excel and word which is all she needs for her bookwork and she has client files written in Microsoft Works which as you know is very old and I need to convert it to excel to be able to use it on her new computer to set up as spreadsheets.
I have been on the internet for advise but it does not work the advice was .
1.open Microsoft works file in Microsoft works
3.click save as
4.selectXLS as the format for the new file.
5.click OK a copy of your file has now been saved in the new format
6.you can now open the files in Excel.
But as other people have said on the internet it does not work any help much appreciated.
Not sure what version of Excel is on the new computer so will check that but will be away for 2 days,
As soon as I get back will try what you are both advising, I will keep you both informed of my results the reason I asked on the forum was the shop that sold the computer said the files could not be converted to Excel which I thought was probably not the case.
Always had good information from the forum, once again thanks for the quick replies I sure I will get it sorted with your expert help.
