I have downloaded an .rar file with multiple parts and I want to join them into a single video file. I have tried procedures in articles and videos with no success. Each time I select the rar files to join I get an error msg telling me that the target file is not an rar archive file thus preventing the task. Can someone please tell me how to join these files successfully, please?

If the RAR files are all from one download and in one file with no other files in the folder, Select All of the RAR files, and choose to Extract to Specified folder. It will combine all RAR files and extract them as one folder.

Thanks for this reply. I understand the process (I think) and have tried both 7-zip and WinRAR without success. The problem is that, even though the file extension is .rar, the joining program doesn't recognize it as such. When I rt. click on the file context menu and choose "properties," the file is identified as a RAR archive file. The zip programs just refuse to handle it.

Do not Open the Archive, Right click the Archive and choose to Extract to a Specific File.If that doesn't work then these files are not joined together, each one is a separate.

If power shell has the cat command, you could try that. Cd to the directory with the .rars and try cat *.rar > filename.rar

If power shell doesn’t work try downloading Cygwin, it’s an light Linux environment with a bunch of tools like cat.

Thanks for this reply, christophHoff, but I'm not nearly tech savvy enough to follow your instructions. It's just too deep in the pool for me, but thanks.
