Bad move by staff - no question about it.

Pretty broad brush to say it's the same or even remotely similar to the VP doing it on purpose to punish someone who was saying the emperor has no clothes wrt the reason said VP was giving for invading Iraq.

Plame was a pencil pusher at a desk, not the chief in another country.

Bush administration said it was on accident in the beginning too...

CIA chief probably wasn't towing the party line...

And I Scooter Libby took the fall for the Bush administration. Whom will take the fall for Barry?

Where is the public outcry and political backlash with this leak??

Typically, the host embassy is responsible for the publicity around a visit by POTUS . . If we don't have an Embassy there, Id guess the Army did it.

With the multiple manufactured scandals that have been thrown around, it is not surprising that no one pays attention to one more . .The sky is falling syndrome . .

I'm just thankful the White House has a television set and gets newspapers delivered.

How else would they keep up with things?

Was Valerie Plame also a sky is falling event?

The whole point is how big of a stink will people raise in similar situations on opposite sides of the aisle.

Take Rep. John Conyers (D) for example. He did not get enough legal signatures to be on the ballot due to non registered voters gathering the signatures for him. I agree that it is a stupid technicality, but the democrat BoE official ruled that Conyers could not be on the ballot. He appeals to an Obama appointed judge who rightfully rules that he tried to gather the sigs in good faith so he is allowed on the ballot.......... would have done that for an R rep?

No doubt political views come into play when interpreting events . . Plame was an act of vengeance, this one apparently an act of stupidity. Does the intent play a role in level of outrage??

"would have done that for an R rep?" . . unlikely . . but then a judge favorable to R's likely would have.

My point is that with so many manufactured "scandals", a certain numbness seems to have set in that creates a level of doubt when a real one comes along . . You can lie about so many things that you loose credibility

In which case, credibility determines who is believed . . and with all the other "Sky is falling" manufactured scandals, credibility is not on our side.

The party has sacrificed it's credibility on the alter of politics
