It's funny how Bush's popularity is steadily increasing while Hussein's continue to plummet.

So that's the bar you set for success or failure of the country....whether or not he can be elected again?

What else are polls for .? ? Has nothing to do with the success or failure of the country . . or Bush would have been ridden out of office on a rail

He'll do ok I think. You guys will work as hard to reelect him as you did the last time and he breeze thru.

I think the Dems could run the Devil himself and he would get more votes than any of the R's currently in line.

For the integrity impaired . . I did not say Bush was going to run in the next election

Interesting preface:

Quote:
For the first time in almost sixty years, the GOP has failed to cross the 48% mark in two consecutive presidential elections, and lost the popular vote in five of the last six. Its chronic weaknesses in the crucial demographics of African Americans, Hispanics and women, seemed to have worsened.

To top it all off, the Republican Party is on the verge of a civil war between the moderate, conservative and libertarian factions. The de facto party leaders, Speaker John Boehner, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and RNC Chair Reince Priebus, are struggling to deliver a cohesive message.

The false dawn of the successful 2010 midterms, which saw the Democrats losing the House and also brought the tea party into national prominence, is a distant memory now.

Back on topic . .

Quote:
The U.S. public's confidence in its lawmakers in Washington, which has been on the decline for decades, is now at a historic low not just for Congress but compared to any major U.S. institution, according to a Gallup poll released on Thursday.

Just 7 percent of Americans surveyed said they have "a great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence overall in Congress, down from 10 percent last year, the non-partisan polling firm said.

"This is the lowest confidence score Gallup has recorded for any institution - ever," Gallup said in a statement. "This is also the first time Gallup has ever measured confidence in a major U.S. institution in the single digits."

The dismal findings could portend even more trouble for incumbent lawmakers in November's congressional elections.

Already, several longtime lawmakers have faced serious challenges, including outgoing House Majority Leader Eric Cantor who lost his Republican primary race in Virginia last week.

Confidence in U.S. lawmakers has been falling ever since Gallup began surveying the public about Congress in 1973. At that time, 42 percent of those polled responded positively.
Bold mine

Might be some more congressmen getting Cantored . .
