Yep, that's HRH Queen Liz II - During WWII she trained as a vehicle-mechanic and drove ambulances, she firmly believes in getting her hands dirty when needed

That and the fact that, despite being a prime target, the Royal Family refused to evacuate Buckingham Palace, their reasoning being that if the subjects are risking life and home, why should they be any different.....

A lot of Londoners shared tears with the 'Queen Mum' when 'Buck House' did get bombed on several different occasions, fortunately none of the family were injured.

There's also a video available of Jim Martin, the 93-year old US paratrooper who commemorated the day by chuting in - Link

Quote:
Martin told CBS News that riding in the plane is boring; when you get off the plane, he said, it gets exciting.

"A little bit of ego, because I'm 93, and I can still do it. And also I just wanted to show all the people you don't sit and die because you get old," he said. "Keep doing things."
From the look of him after his landing, it'll take at least a month to get the grin off his face, What a guy
