Small community with only 1 high school. This stuff is getting out of hand.... From my understanding the school does have an armed resource officer.....I hope he didn't decide to merely 'stage'.

Let's hope it was a false alarm.

Copycat false report......situation contained and lockdown is over. Makes me feel much better that it was only a false report. I can honestly see something like a school shooting happening in this area......lotsa guns around here. Gunfire is a common sound all year 'round......

Another call......from the middle school....

A threatening note found in a bathroom....

Both kids are home now. The verbal threat was a 'mentally disabled' student talking to himself in a bathroom stall.....no actual threat was made to another student. 2 hour lockdown with my g-kid sitting in a dark room.

No news on the note.....sure scared the little angel, though.

Hope this doesn't become a common occurrence.......

Oh my! Glad they were false alarms Marc.

Mentally disabled student aside, the perpetrators of this kind of terror (cos thats what it is) need to be made an example of before this kind of thing becomes 'fashionable'.

I'm sure my wife would have a heart attack at such news.

Glad everything is ok Marc, I keep out of the gun debate as things are different here.

Not sure the nature of the disability or if the person could ever be a threat. They have a bagger/cart guy at the store I shop at......he can carry on a pretty lively conversation with himself. Nice guy but is always involved in conversation with nobody else around.

The person that wrote the note could be a problem. The lockdown was only ~30 mins and I suspect they caught the person.....otherwise they would have to 'sweep' the entire school. This is something I never had to contend with when going to school.....I even took a shotgun to school in the 7th grade. I gave a speech on guns to the entire school......

The little angel was so scared she was in tears as she called her older sister.....poor kid.

I wish they were different here. I have guns.....but only for hunting and one working replica of a .44 cal 'cap and ball'. Max is 6 shots on the .44 and 3 with the 20ga shotgun. .50cal is black powder and you only get one chance before having to reload......

In Scotland you need a license for a air rifle this came about after a idiot fired one and a child was killed back in 2005 it took a while for the law to be put in place if I recall correctly.
The rules are different elsewhere in the UK.

Kids are sure a lot different today......wow. We actually had 3 schools locked down this morning.......intermediate school was also locked down due to being on the same 'campus' as the high school.

We need to tap into DoD funds.....they have a pretty big budget. It's gotten down to having to defend our children as they attend school. Make sure all exterior doors are locked during school hours, security cameras throughout the building, armed resource officers posted onsite. The number of officers to be determined by school size....student population and size of building. The Parkland shooting was a huge failure in regard to school security.......each building should have had an armed resource officer onsite at all times during any type of school function.

What's the world come to?? What happened to the time when visitors were free to enter schools?? And churches were never locked??

I'm so glad it did not amount to anything!

If the lamestream media would stop glamorizing these things it would soon lessen to a significant degree. Of course it is in their 'agenda' to make these incidents as horrific as possible. It is feeding the frenzy of the barely sane to be the next "record holder' in the mass murder "game!!"

When I was in school, 'personal issues' were taken outside & settled behind the gym building, and all was done. What has the world come to??

We settled things during recess......on the playground.....

After hearing about the 'tween' terrified to the point of tears I wondered what she would do in another country (Syria) where your life could be in danger almost every day.

At least women are allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia now. Progress?
