I'm somewhat neutral with him too.

Good guy, brought to light what the media was never covering until Snowden gave it to wiki leaks

In a world of alleged transparency, the only thing clear is the lack of clarity.

People like him will always be denounced as traitors or crazy by those in power. His exposes were ridiculed as ravings or conspiracy theories, until proven correct.

Clairity and transparency have not existed since Nixon as far as I know.
Back in teh 70's a man I looked up to as the smartest person I knew ( adopted father) told me " Big Brother is watching" which made me start investigateing, when the inter net came about I was able to actually investigate more and now I have learned certain "things" that allow me to secure certain " items" from intrusion, by ANY outside entity

Wow first time my namesake and I disagree here, I think he is a complete hero and should be given a medal for having the conscience to say he could not stand by and watch this any longer!

I might feel differently if I believed that:

a. Those were his true motives

b. That the NSA activities were harmful

c. He had not given everything he had to the Russians

I believe none of those things

Regardless of what he exposed, he committed treason. He should be punched for his actions.

The United States Government has grown to a size that it has now required total control. A Government is only powerful if it has eyes on its people. This is where people do not understand that large Government means less power for its people.

Should the Government stop spying on its people? Well that is up to what you believe. However, I will say it will never stop, at least not until we get somebody in power who knows that their doing.

He will live his life in Russia, the US will continue what it needs to do, and our life's will continue, just like they have before he told the world.

Considering that the NSA's inderdiction and tampering with networking hardware shipments, US hardware manufacturers will eventually have no international sales once their contracts start expiring with overseas customers. That's one harmful act.

Their over-reach in data collection has now lead to many more Americans completely losing faith that the Federal government will actually adhere to the rule of law. That's another harmful act (even if people shouldn't have faith in their government for many other reasons).

The world needed proof that the US government is not to be trusted to keep its hands out of the cookie jar. It's perfect that he whacked those hands with a giant metaphorical spoon. Hopefully the revelations keep on coming.

There has been no proof that he has given everything to the Russians and I believe the NSA actions were harmful and are not above the law Rich.

And that's where the problems stem from, they are reaching out beyond boundaries, invading other nations privacies and spying on peoples that aren't American citizens.
The US Government needs to be held accountable for its actions.

If you mean there is an election due, then they only change the figure head, not the power base.
Sorry I'm not that familiar with what will be happening in November.

tell me what government doesn't do this? All the traitor snowdumb did was put a face to it. Have you notice his claims are becoming more and more outrageous? I am pretty sure he has told quite a few lies along the way because there is really no way to prove one way or the other.

the truth..

is never wanted or welcomed. very few speak it or mean it, even fewer less are qualified to know it.

speak the truth and you will not be welcomed anywhere. follow the crowd, follow she sheep and you shall be welcomed.

Nope, but it's a pretty common refrain used to excuse actions nonetheless.

Just as there is no way to prove his claims are actually his, and not made by some Government department attributing them to him.

Obama cancels meeting with Russia's Putin over Snowden decision
This seems to me to be a mistake . . more like Bush would have reacted . . but then I don't have a say in it! In my opinion, tough times call for more face to face conversations . . not less It does send a message about how we feel about Snowden being granted asylum . . Vladimirovich will have...
