Commerce Department study finds no evidence 2012 jobs data faked

Quote:
The U.S. Commerce Department found no evidence to support allegations that the monthly unemployment rate was manipulated before the 2012 presidential election, according to a report issued by the agency's office of inspector general on Thursday.

The department launched the probe last November after the New York Post reported that data used in the closely watched survey was faked in the final stretch of President Barack Obama's re-election campaign, when the monthly unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent from 8.1 percent.

Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives called the allegations "shocking" and sought documents and communications related to the collection of data for the Current Population Survey, which is used by the Bureau of Labor Statistics to calculate the unemployment rate.

The Census Bureau rejected the allegations at the time and said it reported the claims to the Office of the Inspector General as soon as it learned of them.

Want me to split this off of your thread, Rich......or just add all the fabrications in one spot??

Positive news reports about insurance enrollments under Affordable Care Act have been coming out so steadily that they barely make headlines anymore. Still searching for a way to depict Obamacare as a "train wreck," GOP critics of the law have no option but to make up the bad news.

Anyone can see from the subsequent rates, that the October numbers had to be bogus . . just look at the huge increases since

And yet you wonder why some question the numbers published here as facts.

I am not understanding your comment???? If the numbers had been fiddles with, one would expect subsequent numbers to revert to the higher levels . . that was not the case

I do not wonder why some questions the facts . . it's because they conflict with their dogma

Facts can be backed up, dogma can't.

I could not agree more . .

The fact that the rate since Oct 12 has been higher in only two months of the 18 subsequent reports ( by .1% ) and is now 1.5% below that October number would dispel any idea that the October rate was an anomaly . . much less evidence of cooking the books . . and refute the dogmatic assertion that it was rigged to make POTUS look good.

Until this party quits fantasizing about external reasons they have lost the popular vote in 5 of the 6 National elections and looks internally at what they are doing to cause those losses . . the pattern will surely continue
