Auto Rotate has stopped on a windows tablet
and i have looked up online a lot of options and nothing seems to work or the option is not available
as follows

Onscreen keyboard
WIN key + O
no change

No buttons on the side that lock the screen

Display
No check box to tick in display settings

brightness - NO screen icon at the top of screen

Click on the time and choose auto rotate setting- setting not available

I have searched a tried all options and cant find one that matches with this windows 8 system

anyone got any ideas

its a friends tablet, so maybe a delay in trying / replying

Any chances it's disabled in the settings ? or set to portrait mode.. In Windows under Settings-Screen there should be ab auto-rotate checkbox or you can see it in Display settings where the resolution settings are available... Don't have a windows tablet, so just assuming it's going to be the same as a lap..

cannot see any disable in settings
and that checkbox does not exist - looked at various articles and youtube and cannot find out why there is no setting available
quite a few replies say they do not have the checkbox , but I cannot see a reply where the issue was resolved

thanks

Any chance the sensor is disabled ? If you can check device manager to see if there is a driver for the sensor..

:D Not really sure I guess depends on the hardware info...I know a few tools for Android, to find it, maybe there is a similar app for Windows ? Windows Driver Kit SDK has a Sensor test tool built in to it, maybe you can try downloading and installing that..

i have found all the link 10 drivers
but quite a few for sensors

not sure which is the simple orientation sensor - or even if thats used
ACC_
GYRO_
HIDfusion
MAG_

Also the sensor test tool is park of a windows SDK kit - which is not installed on the tablet - it only has a few GB of free space
