I've noticed then I tend to get several notifications when I leave my apartment, usually as I'm getting in my car or driving toward the exit. Does my phone wait until I leave my home location? It could be that the updates come over data instead of wifi for some reason, although it seems to be location-based since I don't notice this happening when I join or leave other wifi networks.

I have a Galaxy S6 with Android 5.1.1.

If you turned it on just before leaving, it takes about 2-3 minutes before notifications. Are you sure you actually had a signal in the house?

I don't remember what the notifications were. I can check next time it happens. I think Twitter is one of them.

I charge my phone while I get ready, so there should be plenty of time for it to connect to the internet. I unplug it before I walk out.

Not taking sides, but some say the phone shouldn't be on while charging. I've gotten notifications hours after they were sent. In that case the carrier(s) is to blame.

It happened again today. I got Twitter and Grupon notifications among others. It's weird how it always happens when I get in my car or am leaving the apartments.

Update your phone firmware and any other updates the menu shows. On a lighter side, maybe your phone likes the Bluetooth connection in your car.
