After a recent update to my Moto G5+, I think the one that bumped me to Oreo, two of my apps got verrrry sloooow. They're both older games downloaded from the Play store a year ago, but were working fine until that point. Everything else has worked fine all along. I've since had another update, now to 8.1.0, but it didn't help.

In both cases there's a momentary delay between any input (tap, swipe, press, drag, etc) and the response, and then any animation moves more slowly than it used to.

In searching online I found reports of similar problems when an OS updates and older apps become irreparably incompatible. These are two of my favorite apps, though, so I want to make sure there isn't anything I can do before I give up on them.

Is there anything I can try or do I need to mourn and move on?

Go to Playstore and share feedback with the Developer and see if they come back with a bug fix or updated version.
