Anyone ever heard of WGU? It's an online, non-profit school. I see a lot of good reviews on the internet, but I'd like to hear from individuals about it. My worry is that it's an online school, and that a degree from WGU may be seen the same way as a degree from University of Phoenix or ITT Tech. I do see an old thread about WGU, but there weren't many responses to it and I think that my situation is different, anyway.

Now, the thing is that I'm already working in IT, so I'm not trying to get my foot in the door. I want to have a Bachelors for opening more doors for future advancement, and also because I just want to have a BS degree.

At this point I think that my work experience would hold the most weight, and that even a degree from a less reputable school would be good enough just for marking off the checkbox and that it won't hurt me, but that's just a guess. Any thoughts?

Each employer's opinion varies. However, here's a discussion from three years ago: Does WGU get any respect with employers

Thanks, that's encouraging. I think I'll go for it - I've been looking at the history and it seems legit. It was established by US governors and it's regionally accredited, so I guess it counts as a "real" school.
