Let me begin by saying my community college has three campuses. All spread about an hour between one another. My initial major is CIT: Microsoft Networking. I was looking at my next semester classes and they all are located at the other campus from me which is about an hour away like I said. I have no car or transportation so I cant stay in this major really. However, I did see that the new program there is Mechatronics .

It also offers a pain internship (22.00 an hour) to many of the students at the local steel mill. I am in the lowest math possible at the school witch is basically entry level math and some pre algebra. I have two more to go after this class before I can pick my major's math. I'm also never been good at science either. I noticed the course requires applied physics.

I'm interested in it. I've always wanted to build things, and have found assembly lines fascinating. How difficult would this field be to me on a daily basis? What's it like in the real world?

Can someone give me some insight? I understand the classes will be really diffcult, but what's it like outside? I understand it'll be difficult and will deal with much of the same stuff, but I know a lot of times the stuff in the class rooms aren't a whole lot like in the real world. It's used differently.

I like the fact it's still computers, and I've used, repaired, etc. since I was a young teenager. An example being, I am terrible with knowing speeds, number of pins, etc. But I can still replace the parts no problem and locate them, name the part, etc. In the class room I HAVE to know this stuff for the test, but outside of the classroom, I can still work on them, replace parts, etc.

Sorry, I am not good at explaining my question being the only stuff I've seen is online so it's all new to me so I am not exactly sure how to word it.
